Today we are sharing a fast & easy dog treat recipe. This frozen cold treat will work wonders in warm weather. Dog’s love their peanut butter and won’t resist them! Our dog can’t resist licking the spoon after we are done.
Please remember when cooking with peanut butter, try using organic or sugar free peanut butter. The commercial peanut butter may be loaded with chemicals and added sugars, things we shouldn’t be eating nor our dogs. Before creating these delicacies, lets go over the ingredients and their benefits for our pooch.
Peanut Butter – Is a good source of protein, that contains heart healthy fats, vitamin B, niacin and vitamin E. PB can help your dog have a healthier body and improve your dogs coat.
Yogurt – Is high on calcium and protein. As same the peanut butter; try using yogurts that do not contain artificial sweeteners, colors and added sugar. The yogurt can help your dog digestive system.
Banana – Great source of potassium, vitamin C, vitamin B6, fiber and copper. This ingredient will help boost your dog’s immune system, replenish electrolytes and promote healthier skin and coat.
Honey – Although honey is beneficial to dogs, do NOT feed honey to puppies. Only feed a teaspoon of honey to adult dogs. The honey can help the dog’s digestive system; as it can act has a probiotic. If your dog is feeling a little lazy, you can feed a teaspoon since it will help boost up your dogs energies. Honey also can be used as a type of antioxidant, since it can help reduce arthritic inflammation.
Now; let’s start the cooking!
1Blend all the ingredients together
Simple as that! Mix together 32 oz of plain yogurt, 3 tablespoons of peanut butter, 1 large banana and 1 tablespoon of honey. The honey is optional.
2Poor into a silicone mold or ice cube tray
Pour the mixture into a silicone mold or ice cube tray and let it freeze for about 2 hours.
Pop up the treats and let the feeding begin!
